During warmer months and winter days that allow it, a walk in Nitro’s Ridenour Park is good for body and soul. I’ve clocked some serious hours enjoying the trails since my move to the area, and I don’t think I will ever tire of the peace that’s offered there. With camera in hand while walking, I’ve taken many shots to use as references for possible paintings. This painting was started yesterday using such a reference photo. The painting will not be a duplication of the photo. That is not the goal, but rather the effect of the backlit foliage and spatters of light making their way through the trees.
