David Leffel is considered a master painter,well-known for dark, mysterious still-lifes and strikingly rendered portraits. In an effort to learn from his technique, I attempted a Nan Perry version of Crescendo of Orange. I changed and omitted some details, but my goal was to capture the darkened atmosphere and focused highlights. The grapes...I’m not happy with the too brightness; the darkness is not quite there, but I did have fun exploring the challenge.
