Also known as Tug Fork Covered Bridge, the Staats' Mill Covered Bridge once crossed the Tug Fork of Big Mill Creek. The bridge was built adjacent to Enoch Staats' Mill and store and played a integral role in the development of Jackson County. Now, however, the bridge is located three miles from that original site at the FFA/FHA State Camp at Cedar Lakes in Ripley. Preserved for future generations and open only to foot traffic, this bridge is one of several West Virginia covered bridges and was sheer joy to paint, and yes, I plan to return. This place deserves more than one visit.
