I'm interrupting my 20-day Facebook Holiday Sale, so tomorrow, day six will resume. The weather was perfect to paint outdoors today, so I returned to the McCain farm. Normally, I use an 8x10, or maybe an 11x14, when I paint outdoors, simply because the small size allows a quicker finish. Today, however, I returned with a 16x20 panel upon which I had laid the groundwork for a larger commissioned painting. I wanted to check the color I had already applied on the panel with the recent fall foliage that has appeared since my last visit to this lovely place. The reflection on the lake was lovely, and the morning light cast a golden glow across the lawn and enhanced the new color on the trees. Although not finished, I managed to get a lot accomplished. I can think of very little that I would rather do than paint outdoors on a day like this one has been.
