Old bicycles are a favorite of mine, especially when they are arranged in flower beds. Three old bikes can be found in my yard among flowers. This painting was inspired by one of these bikes. I took artistic liberty and changed the color of the bike for the sake of the color scheme. The position of the bike and flowers, however, are pretty much "true to life." This is a fun piece, and it was fun to paint. I have discovered the square composition of late, and this image worked well with that dimension. On stretched canvas, a frame is not needed, although one can be used if so desired. This piece makes me smile.
