This is one of many paintings that I returned to and changed. One of the many characteristics of oils that I enjoy is its forgiving qualities; it allows for repainting, changing at the painter's whim. I've done it many times. After time, I see something I didn't see before; Perhaps I've learned, maybe improved enough to see an error or something that can be improved. In the case of Mom and Jr., the revisit had to do with the calf's front legs. I didn't like them...didn't look right. Now, I'm happier with this piece. I can let it go with a good feeling.
