This piece was painted during a plein air workshop at Alabama's Mt. Cheaha State Park. We were told to simply choose a view that appealed to us and paint. Choosing a view was difficult, for the choices were myriad, even overwhelming. I tried to focus on subjects close at hand. These trees spoke, as trees always do. I painted this image and left it until today when I brought out some details such as leaves, highlights, and sometimes. I think I'm finished.
