My final piece from Alabama Art Colony, this was not finished until today. I was not happy with it at the time of the colony, and I basically cast it aside and went to another arrangement. After I got home, I set it on the shelf in the studio, and it looked back longingly for days. Yesterday, I doggedly decided to "do something with it." Now, I think I like it, or at least I'm not antagonistic toward it. I'm not sure why I have warmed toward it, other than the appeal of its being the underdog. In looking at it now, I see the brush bristles are too repetitive. Their shapes need variety, so that I will do, but I think I can let it go in with its brothers and sisters.
