Here's to you, Momma Ann

As long as I can remember, she occupied this house. Although family lived in a nearby city and would gladly have made easier arrangements for her, she remained staunchly independent and despite everything, managed remarkably well. The older I get, the more I realize how remarkable Mrs. Larry truly was. When she could have folded up shop because she a senior, (and by senior, I mean 100 plus) she remained spry, sassy, and an eternal joy. She was not seen in public gatherings without being dressed to the max, primped up, hair "set," and a smile on her face. After a bad fall at church and forced out of dress shoes into flat, supportive footwear, she donned  Nikes, and by George, pulled it off, never missing a step. Every time, I pass the house, I think of you, Momma Ann, a southern lady if there ever was one. The house is still standing, just like you did.

  1. Ann was a one of a kind lady. A heart full of love and compassion. One thing for sure you didn't want to bad mouth one of her friends, I do believe everyone was her friend, she was just a person who stood up for what she believed in. I wish I had some of her wonderful jam or preserves now. To have known her was blessing.
