My goal during the winter months is to plein air paint one day a week regardless of weather. Today was clear with no chance of rain, so I knew this day would be the best to strike out. However, I didn’t strike out too far. I stayed in my own yard and painted a partial view of a scene that I see every morning. I tried my hand at the early morning view of the eastern sky which is always a lovely sight from my bedroom window. I failed to check, so I can’t say what the temperature was, but the air definitely had a bite to it. I used a 5x7 panel for the sake of time. I’ll be the first to admit that the end product was not a masterpiece, but I achieved my weekly goal (in record time).
