Work in Progress

Beloved American poet Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” comes to mind while working on this piece. The poem’s words and lovely imagery underscore the significance of the decisions we make in this life. A decision to choose one path rather than another can determine our destiny and “can make all the difference” as the poem’s last line says. Flippant  decisions made in a moment’s time often gain significance with the passage of time. The moral of this reflection I suppose would be to recognize the gravity of  decisions we make and consider our options and weigh consequences. With that said, I realize I made some poor decisions with this painting that will require adjustments, many of them. Thankfully, oil is forgiving.
