Iron Works on a Shelf 22x24

I have quite a collection of cast iron, some pieces of which are years older than I because my grandmother used some of them during her lifetime. This is the second  time to paint a still life using these cast iron pieces, and because of the emotional connection, I truly enjoy the process. The challenge in painting the black surface is recognizing the other colors, the blues and grays of highlights and red tones of the rust that often surfaces on such surfaces. Added to that challenge is the straight-on perspective on shelves, a deviation from the usual perspective for me. To this arrangement, I added a sifter and some utensils to add variety in shapes and texture.
