Talladega National Forest in Alabama covers a large tract of mountainous land populated mostly by pine and occasional hardwood. I love the deep blues of the distant views of those mountains, and it was that very trait that captivated me in this view.  Since relocating to West Virginia, I have noticed the absence of that distant blue, simply because of the sparsity of pines, and I suppose that accounts for the intensity of the fall color in WV. Not curtailed by evergreens, the forests are more vibrant when  the season changes. However, the bluish-green of Talladega National Forest has a beauty of its own.
