Open Air Cabal County-Milton Covered Bridge

A friend loaned me a DVD about West Virginia's covered bridges not long after I moved to the area. She thought I might be interested in painting them, and she definitely had me pegged. I was intrigued with that prospect, and this week I found my way to Milton, WV, home of West Virginia Pumpkin Festival grounds. Milton Covered Bridge, aka Mud River Covered Bridge, has been located on the festival grounds since being moved from its original site nearby. As a result, the bridge has been preserved and is enjoyed by countless people. In the early morning light, the bridge provided two hours of focused painting. With easy access and well-maintained grounds, the park was an ideal place to paint. I plan on returning to this place.
