Headed Home 11x14

I first painted this piece with a solitary birdhouse and later decided it needed a resident, so I added a yellow bird in a landing pattern. Since the little guy is in flight, the figure was left indistinct to create a sense of movement. I honestly struggled with this, for I tend to lean toward a "tightness" in my work. I've tried over the last years to loosen up by creating soft lines and blurring edges, which does not come easy for me. I'll let the viewer make the final determination.
