Painting outdoors requires locating subject matter. Thus, I am continually seeking places to paint, locations that are scenic, have intriguing lighting, or perhaps are significant landmarks. Since relocating in Kanawha County, I have been on the lookout for such locations, and I've not been disappointed. Often, I drive to Nitro via 40th Street, and I've noticed some views that fall into one or all of these categories. One such place is the home and outbuildings of this sweet lady, Sandra Jean Nelson. When I ask permission to paint on private property, I am prepared for one of three possible answers: 1. "Yes!" 2. "No!" 3. "Get off my property! I'm calling the cops!" I'm prepared for either of these. Sandra responded with a gracious #1 response, and I thoroughly enjoyed the morning in this kind lady's yard. Thank you, Sandra Nelson. I hope to revisit sometime.
