Fresh off the easel...finished and ready for a home, The Old Sims' Place is an 8x10 depicting an old house that stands isolated on a cloudy morning. The place has a haunting air that begs for its story to be told. Maybe in the past, the place was a hub of activity with a family within its walls. Now, the old place stands like a remnant of the past. Houses, like people, have lives that are intangibly linked to the people within. When the people are gone, the house slowly becomes a shell that loses sense of itself, almost mourning the loss of its occupants. There is a sadness with an alluring quality that I find irresistible.
