Recently, I noticed a quote that said, "Everyone needs to go occasionally to a place where the sound of the slam of a screen door can be heard." I understand why someone would not understand that remark; however, I understand it completely. Many pleasant memories of childhood include the background sound of a slamming screen door, a sound that was unnoticed and under my radar at the moment. Not until I reading the quote have I realized the sound was a part of many childhood memories of happiness and a carefree time for which I am truly thankful.
