When I was sent some photos taken in a friend's kitchen, I was struck by the striking red combo and decided to try and paint an arrangement of the items. The difficulty for me here was keeping the background reds from over-powering the items in the foreground. I consider the point of interest in this arrangement as being the light play on the crockery, rolling pins, and primarily the bowl. All else takes a back seat. The eye naturally travels around the crockery, rolling pins, spoon, and settles on the bright bowl. The linens are almost overlooked.
