Yuri Nokolaev is a contemporary artist whose work I greatly admire. This piece is a study of one of his pieces, Woodpile. I love the highlighted wood and axe in the foreground set against the extremely dark background. I'm attempting to unravel his technique in achieving that impact. ...just an experiment.
