These days I'm attempting to paint a miniature on a daily basis, anything that falls into my line of vision that appeals to me. Usually the subject matter falls into the still life category, a floral or arrangement of glassware, fruit, household items. I've been known to whip out a few simple landscapes studies. I attempted a bird on this day, yes...a bird. How simple is that, right??? I have seen the sweetest little birds painted by friends, and think that I should try it. It would be a piece of cake. Maybe for them, but not necessarily for me I discovered. The image I used for this miniature study has been downloaded on my notepad for years, waiting for such an occasion. I would like to announce that painting a little bird is not as easy as it appears; I struggled with this little guy. Birds and I have a long way to go.
