Normally, I blog about new work that is either in progress or finished, sometimes both. This piece has been sold for years, but I post this to prove a point. This painting holds the record as the quickest sell I have ever had to date. The paint on these two was hardly dry before they had a home. Considering the subject matter, I think the point could be made that beauty/worth is in the eye of the beholder. I never cease to be amazed at what does and doesn't sell. I am discovering that people (including yours truly) respond to art that evokes a memory or an emotion, something that resonates with our life experience. This pair definitely struck a familiar chord with the buyer.
