Open Air in Clay County McCain Farm

What a glorious day to be outside doing what one loves. Painting outdoors provides unspeakable joy plus improves painting skills. Seeing a landscape/structure in open air adds an additional deminsion that a photograph does not. Color and reflected light are visible, whereas photographs flatten color, making shadows appear black. For one who enjoys nature, being outdoors is so much more  pleasant that being cooped indoors in a studio all day. Today I had the pleasure of painting on the grounds of the Marvin and Linda McCain farm. Hopefully, tomorrow I will return to this lovely place.
