From the back of Macedonia Baptist Church within yards of the grave of Emily Garrett Carpenter, one can see the rear view of her home. So much living occurred within that circumference of land; a lifetime of births, deaths, joys, and sorrows transpired only to be repeated by the generation who followed her. The house still stands as a testament to their living.
