My usual morning walk takes me east on Armory Road which merges into Willis Road and then intersects with Owens Road. When I get an early start, I am treated to the sun topping the trees on Owens Road and pushing its fingers of light through the intersection along the treeline and pasture . For a brief few minutes, the earth is covered with a golden gauze, and I am transfixed with the beauty of it all. This morning, I finally did it. I set up my easel and painted that intersection during this magical period when the earth comes alive. Neighborhood dogs barked the entire time, but I did it. It simply doesn't get any better than painting the sunrise.
