Connie is a statue planted in my backyard. Patterned after the statue in the movie In the Garden of Good and Evil, she and I have a history together and have become close. Two summers ago, I tried to relocate her to another part of the yard, and we took a fall together. The tumble resulted in her broken arm. I mended it with a concrete mix, hence, the name Connie. She is as good as new, so to speak, although one arm is slightly gimpy. I tried to capture her in a plein air session and was initially disappointed in the result. After, some corrections, she looks more like herself, and we both are happier. If you want a piece with a story, this small painting is the number.
