A large piece on gallery wrap, Treadle is a expanded version of an 8x10 close-up previously painted. This version includes chair and surroundings, so a totally different image is the result. My goal is to depict a darkened atmosphere with a focused stream of light. I'm excited about this one for these are objects that are in my home and have a special significance. This treadle machine was my grandmother's and one upon which my mother learned to sew.
