The urban park on the square is such a nice place and one of the most recent additions to our little town. A creative city planner somewhere had the idea of transforming the space left by a vacated storefront into a miniature "park," thus, utilizing space that was otherwise doomed to city blight. In its brief history, this picturesque alcove has served as a photography backdrop, a wedding venue, and a plein air painting location (Yes, that would be me). My model for this scene had to return to work, but my idea is to have someone sitting at the table in the morning sun with the square in the background. Our own Chelsey Wynn performed that service beautifully. This is a piece that will require studio work, but I'm excited about the possibilities. I have always loved the brick and plastered walls for a background. Definitely, a work in progress...
