Ashland's city limits on County Road 31 directly precedes a left hand curve that commands the driver's attention, which means that the sight of this old home-place is sometimes overlooked. I've always liked this place, set snugly in the curve with a bird's eye view of oncoming traffic. I can't remember when it wasn't there; neither can I remember the place looking differently. For some reason, I find security in that.
