Plein Air #4 Red Tractor in Shed

  1. I grew up in the city limits, but there is no question that I am country to the bone...just can't help it. The fact that a tractor parked in the shadowy recesses of a shed would be appealing is no surprise. This piece was good practice in maintaining darker values in order to give the appearance of the tractor's position in the shed. In looking at this picture, I see the front bumper on the tractor needs correcting. On one side, the bumper extends beyond the tire, and on the side, it does not. The bumper should extend the tire on both sides. I simply failed to catch that. Since I noticed it, that's all I can see...that glaring mistake. Mistakes can be seen in hindsight so much easier, both in painting and living. Neither did I take a photo of this piece on site...not sure why. After a little work, this piece should be ready to go to some farm-friendly home.
