Small Town, USA

If you are ever lonely or just bored, this is the place to go, the nerve center of our metropolis...the Pig. If by chance, you need a news update, a quick stay here is more informative than CNN. Back in B.P., otherwise known as Before Pig, this tract of land was wooded, like what is seen beyond the building. Ashland Computer Service did not exist, of course, and that property was the location of "The Hut," the small library, and an even smaller building which I only knew as the Scout Building. These buildings deserve another post, so back to the Pig. During my 23-year stint of teaching in Clay County, the number of students in my classes who were Pig employees always amazed me. Working in a grocery store is an education all to itself. I know because I have tried it. This complex was difficult to paint, and I see all manner of mistakes, but that's OK. If I return to paint this, I think I'll try in the afternoon rather than morning. The front will be in sunlight rather than shadow. The hardest detail was VEHICLES. The parking lot was more crowded, but I simply eliminated 70% of the parked cars and trucks. The building is not long enough, so that means I need to adjust this image or simply start over in a longer canvas, which I probably will do. The Pig deserves the best.
