Interesting image...our feet symbolize our activities, our connection with the world. Little wonder there are numerous quotes about human feet. However, in this painting, the shoes were what interested me, the hush puppy oxfords. I wore a pair for a long time because of comfort. The soles finally got so thin that I replaced them with a new pair, which was never the same. How does one emotionally bond with a pair of shoes?
