Although most people only focus on Santa during the holidays, Santa actually lives a full life doing the things that most of us do: managing the elves (the equivalent of a large business), keeping ahead of the toy manufacturing industry, taking care of an ever-evolving reindeer herd, maintaining the Clause home which is in constant need of repair because of the weather, and being a husband to the lady of the house. All of this fades into background, however, on December 24. On that day, Santa
steps into the spotlight and does the deed for which he is known. This painting captures a moment of that event.
