Our county is under possible snow alert which actually means there is a possibility of a dusting of snow. We are speaking of maybe an inch accumulation, at the most. The more serious possibility is ice-covered spots. Colder regions find us ridiculously excited with snow, but the white stuff is rare enough that a celebration is in order. This 11x14 painting entitled First Snow is not a Christmas painting, but I felt it captured the spirit of the moment, the gray cool of the atmosphere and the hushed cold, an image that is not limited with the holiday use. A gift that would continue to give throughout the year...
