...working on this commission for now. Mistakenly, I thought I could whip this out and get on with whatever. NOT! The challenge was the dimensions and perspective of the angle that the customer wanted. When teaching, I occasionally would look at student sketches, and there always would be a car enthusiast in the bunch, a kid who loved hot wheels. Now, after working on this Chevy truck, I appreciate those sketches more. I should have asked him/her more questions like, "Did you trace this?????" Because that's what I felt like doing after the first 30 minutes. Finally, I managed to get it recognizable and now on to painting it. The reflections...not easy either. This owner of this truck was passionate about his truck. My car has never been this shiny. At any rate, the chevy is coming. I may see big, red Chevy trucks in my dreams and imagine the roar of souped up motors in the distance, but this will get painted.
