Periwinkles against Cabin

It was too cold and windy for me to paint outside for an extended time, so I painted something close to the cabin, real close. These periwinkles were at the corner of the front porch and were painted in record time.  I've done better, but I was cold and anxious to get inside. By now, the frost has probably killed them, so maybe it was good that I chose them. My plein air painting days are quickly coming to a close unless I want to prepare for long periods in cold weather. Many artists do it by bundling up, traveling light, and capturing those lovely winter scenes, but I'm a weinie in cold weather. I like the warmth of the studio.
