Figure #9 Alabama Art Colony

Seeing your work through the camera's eye offers an entirely new perspective. Why does this model have a black eye??? Did she get conked on the head with a boiler? Maybe she was struck by a big spoon. Surely, yours truly didn't paint her this way!!!! Surely, not I!!! Yet there it is...a shiner as big as the state of Texas. Go figure.... I make no excuses nor offer a reason why I did it. The moral of this is that the eye does not always SEE what is actually there. I just saw what I thought was there. I should have slowed down, stepped away, and returned after a break. Maybe then the shiner would have been more obvious to me then. ...and then maybe not.
