Lepus. 7x20 wood panel

Why I painted this is a mystery. Possibly, it was the odd-shaped wood panel that had been lying around my studio for ages that I had wanted to use. I saw this magazine ad with a bizarre rabbit that may have triggered something. Perhaps I am tired of painting serious subjects. Who knows??? ...just a wild hair, as my mother would say,  or is it a wild hare?
