By the third day, I have decided that I will be painting on the mural for the rest of my natural life. Why does it appear so slowly??? Today, I continued on the "animal wall," which is seen in today's blog. Please bear with me, for I am compelled to explain what is seen. The Rhode Island Red rooster appears to be suspended in air; however, he will be "roosted" on a screen that has yet to be installed. The screen begins at the far left where pigs and goats are stationed. An imaginary line marks as end of the painting. At that point, the screen will be located (we hope). The screen will extend across the unpainted space seen in the photo and stop at the upper neck of the mule. A platform will be installed below the screen and a mock fence will be attached to the wall, hopefully, giving the impression of fenced in cows, mule, and donkey. I am going to have to provide a background for the image, perhaps a distant tree line, maybe some "farmerly" outbuildings. This foreground information needs to be "anchored" with a believable setting which that would provide. One potential problem which will need addressing is the space below the screen. Will I need to extend goat legs, pig pen, and mule feet in the space? Time will tell.
