Rushmore 16x20 $50.00 canvas panel

Eighteen years were spent in the sculpting of Mt. Rushmore, which when one stands in awe of the massive walls, that length of time seems miraculous. The idea took seed in 1923 when Doane Robinson dreamed of massive carvings in the granite needles of the Black Hills of South Dakota. He invisioned an attraction so big, the world would come to South Dakota. After contacting sculpture  Gutzon Borglum and iniating his visit for a discussion of the project, a decision was made to sculpt some even bigger, something of national significance. Thus began 18 years of backbreaking work. The results, however are viewed by millions of visitors; truly, Mt. Rushmore is a marvel, and Doane Robinson's dream became a reality.
