Just Peas 5x15 wood panel 50.00 plus postage

Painting on a wood panel is actually a throwback to the pre-Renaissance period before some good soul decided that fabric, sized and grounded for painting surfaces, was more resilient under moist conditions and insured less damage to art work. This idea was received heartily in Renaissance Venice where moisture was an extreme problem. This 5x15 panel originally was patterned for a kitchen drawer front, one that was discarded for some reason. After a coat of acrylic jesso, it make for an excellent ground for painting. I used several of these for plaques, turning either horizontally or vertically, as the chosen image dictated. Certainly free from warpage or breakage, this durable piece will last a lifetime.
