I have had the opportunity of traveling out West with friends more than once. The goal, as many before us. was to witness the grandeur of the mountains and western landscape, the stuff of cowboy movies with which we grew up, and of course, to paint on location if possible. While on the first trip, I grew enamored with aspens. the "tree with the white bark." As a result, I paint them frequently. I have even gone so far as researching the likelihood of their survival here in the southeast. Unfortunately, they will not, so I am compelled to enjoy them on the canvas. I hope you do too.
