Hollyhock Morning 8x8 60.00 plus postage

After continuous attempts to return to my old blog, I've given it up. A new blog has been created which I may regret, but maybe not. The purpose of this blog (just as the previous one) is to discuss the art I download, my goal in its painting, my reflections on the work. Hopefully, the effort will be a way of documenting my growth and consciously "thinking through" my "creative" process. Today's selection is a recent one, a small 8x8 on museum wrap that is actually a preliminary study of a larger one. I have always loved hollyhocks, flowers of any kind actually.  I often paint floral pieces, which will become obvious if not already. I loved the play of light here on the white banisters and the coolness of morning atmosphere. I'm excited about the larger version of this. Recently, I have made a decision to use museum wrap canvas rather than panels to forgo the framing expense and aggravation, thus freeing myself from some stress.  I will be forced to use panels that I currently have, but new paintings will be on the museum wrap.
