Dance of the Clouds

Finished on New Year's Day, this little piece is my first painting of 2018. More of a skyscape than a landscape, the emphasis is on the atmosphere which is appropriate for the beginning of the new year. Looking forward to future events, a fresh start, requires an upward focus rather than a preoccupation with the world at our feet. My intentions for this year include painting daily and focusing on improvement. I want to avoid comparing myself with others which only leads to discouragement. Improvement...how much have I improved since yesterday, last week, last month, etc.? Consistent improvement is within my ability to accomplish. Here's to you, 2018...365 days of growth.
